SEAS

KW996-AA - S.E.A.S - Ships Email Alarm system

AMI are proud to present the KW996-AA

The "Ships Email Alarm System", or "S.E.A.S", is an automated alert system that will detect a change in status of specified equipment and raise the alarm at a remote location, using a designated e-mail address.

For example:
- The system could be connected to the vessel's holding tanks. When the high level threshold is reached the SEAS would detect this and automatically send an e-mail to Superintendant who could contact the vessel to ensure the matter is in hand.
- The vessel could have a fire in the engine room. The SEAS may be configured to detect this alarm and immediately dispatch an e-mail to the vessel's office to inform them of the situation.
- For vessels with a single man bridge system if the watch keeper alarm is activated this can alert the vessel's office or Master onboard.

A 'Free Text' tool is incorporated for the officer on watch to send a short note to the same e-mail address (and only this address) to update the Superintendant, office or whoever is the chosen recipient of the situation onboard.

The system will monitor up to 12* separate inputs so an example of a vessels configuration could be as follows:

1 - Main Fire Alarm
2 - Engine Room Fire Alarm
3 - Cargo Hold 1 High Water Level
4 - Cargo Hold 2 High Water Level
5 - Engine Room Bilge High Water
6 - Generator Room Bilge High Water
7 - Watertight Door Status
8 - Bow Shell Door Status
9 - Stern Shell Door Status
10 - Steering Gear Failure Alarm

11 - Man Overboard Alarm
12 - Security Alert Activation

Status indications such as rate of turn limit and off course alarm, among others, can be monitored by adding further AMI interfaces such as the KW991.

This system will be available from 21st October 2008.

Please feel free to download our datasheet here KW996-AA
If any further information is required, including a quotation, please contact us via our Contact page.

*assuming status connections are dry contact closure.

Portable Pilot

We are proud to announce the birth of our KW800-MPA 'Mobile Pilot Aid'

Born from conversations with various Pilots from around the World the KW800-MPA aims to meet the fundamental needs of the Pilot when navigating in any given situation.

The Portable Pilot is a wireless, handheld, waterproof, PDA type pilotage aid that connects to the existing pilot port of the vessel's AIS system.
Relevant information is filtered from the AIS data and sent via bluetooth protocol to the handheld unit giving the pilot exact information and removing the confusion of conflicting bridge instruments.

The system itself is enclosed in a lightweight, waterproof, rugged, portable case with ease of embarking and disembarking the vessel a priority in its design.

For further information on the Portable Pilot system and current datasheet please visit our
KW800-MPA page in our Special Projects section.

KW950-E

For anyone new to AMI's products it would be very unfortunate if you were not aware of our highly popular, best selling, KW950-E Universal Interface and Display

It proved hughly popular during the period of AIS installations, being used for convertion of obscure gyro signals into the required NMEA 0183 data stream.

Since that time its popularity has continued to increase due to its simple configuration and high reliability.

Here is a list of the most popular functions of the KW950-E:

Synchro to NMEA gyro conversion
Stepper to NMEA gyro conversion
Heading to rate of turn data output
Low speed NMEA to standard NMEA gyro conversion
High speed NMEA to standard NMEA gyro conversion
200ppm to NMEA speed log conversion
NMEA to 200ppm speed log conversion
Echo Sounder pulse to NMEA conversion
NMEA to Furuno gyro data
Reversed heading display and data output

This is a very small list of the KW950-E's vast range of functions

Check out the data sheet here - KW950-E - or register on our site and download the user manual for a complete list of the available functions.
